Andrew J. Kaufman, M.D, FACP
Dr. Andrew J. Kaufman received his medical degree at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. After medical school he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and became board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Upon completion of his internal medicine training he completed a residency in Dermatology at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology as well as the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kaufman was invited to complete a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco under the direction of Drs. Roy Grekin and Richard Glogau.
Dr. Kaufman is the Medical Director of The Center for Dermatology Care in Thousand Oaks, California, and is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and was elected to the Board of Directors of that prestigious organization. Dr. Kaufman was also nominated and elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honor reserved for physicians dedicated to ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine. As a recognized expert in Mohs surgery and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Kaufman has lectured at many national and international meetings with presentations to such organizations as the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American College of Mohs Surgery, International Congress of Dermatology, World Congress on Skin Cancers, Hellenic Society of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery, and American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Kaufman is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on Mohs micrographic surgery and facial reconstruction. He is a consultant reviewer of the scientific publication Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and consultant reviewer and contributing editor of Dermatologic Surgery. He has been interviewed for articles in the print media, including The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Skin Cancer Foundation Journal, Esquire, Health, Family Circle, Prevention, Ladies Home Journal, Shape, Self, Cosmopolitan and Vogue.
